How to Update CWWK BIOS Using Ventoy

Step 1: Download Ventoy

Ventoy is a bootable USB utility that allows ISO files to be launched directly from a USB drive. It can also be used with installation images such as ESXi, Proxmox VE, Windows, and Linux.

Click on the latest Ventoy version below the News title.

2.Then select the "windows.zip" version for download. After approximately 5 seconds, the download will start automatically.

3.Wait for the download to complete.

The version number may change as Ventoy is updated, so it does not need to match the version shown in the screenshots.

Step 2: Create a Ventoy Bootable USB Drive

After downloading Ventoy, extract the ZIP file completely.

Open the extracted folder and locate:

Ventoy2Disk.exe

Run the program, then:

1. Select your USB drive under Device.
2. Check the drive letter carefully.
3. Click Install.
4. Confirm the operation when prompted.
5. Wait for Ventoy to finish installing.

Delete

until the BIOS Setup screen appears.

Before updating, take a photo or make a note of the current BIOS information.

You can compare this information with the new BIOS version after the update is complete.

Step 5: Boot from the Ventoy USB Drive

In the BIOS, open:

Save & Exit

Find the Boot Override section and select the USB boot device.

Depending on the USB drive and motherboard, it may appear as:

UEFI: USB

or under the USB drive's brand or model name.

Select the USB drive and press Enter. The device will then boot into Ventoy. 

Step 6: Select the BIOS ISO File

After the update program starts, press Enter before the countdown ends.

The screen will display information about the BIOS package.

Check the displayed information carefully.If the information matches your device, press Enter to continue.

While the update is running:

• Do not remove the USB drive.

After the BIOS update is completed, press the Enter key and let the device restart.

The system usually restarts twice:

The first restart is used to record hardware information;
The second restart will normally start the system.

The first startup after the BIOS update may take longer than usual. Please wait for the process to complete and do not forcefully shut down or force the device to restart.

Step 11: Verify successful boot

If you previously set the USB drive as the first boot option, the second restart will directly enter the Ventoy menu again. This indicates that the system has successfully booted.

No. Copy the complete BIOS ISO file directly to the Ventoy USB drive.

Why Can't I See the BIOS File in Ventoy?

Should I Select Boot in grub2 Mode?

The CWWK manual uses Boot in normal mode. Unless the BIOS package includes different instructions, use the normal boot mode.
